Pursuing Truth, Ensuring Justice
Developing Best Practices

Prosecutors acting alone cannot always ensure that justice was done in each case – particularly where a case was prosecuted decades ago. As a result, District Attorney Marian Ryan has pursued relationships with other organizations with which the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office works on developing best practices in conviction review. These best practices have been developed by stakeholders on all sides of a criminal case and help ensure that the interests of justice are served even years after a criminal case has formally ended.
